Basketball Recap: El Segundo Takes a Loss

El Segundo lost against Palos Verdes back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The El Segundo Eagles fell 59-47 to the Palos Verdes Sea Kings. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 606th, while the Sea Kings are ranked 254th).

El Segundo has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Palos Verdes, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-6.

El Segundo and Canyon Springs will compete for holiday cheer at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. One thing working in Canyon Springs' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten games. Palos Verdes and Legacy will round out the year against one another at at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
