Baseball Recap: Bonita Vista Takes a Loss

Bonita Vista lost against Coronado back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Bonita Vista fell just short of Coronado by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Barons have suffered since May 24, 2024.

Bonita Vista got a good showing from CRISTIAN AYALA, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, AYALA gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Bonita Vista saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was ADRIAN FIGUEROA, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. LEO CUBILLAS also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Bonita Vista is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6. As for Coronado, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Bonita Vista is taking a road trip to challenge Scripps Ranch at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bonita Vista is facing Scripps Ranch at the right time seeing as Scripps Ranch is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Coronado, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Helix at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Coronado 3.6, Helix 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
