Softball Recap: Forest Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

Forest had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt DeLand on Wednesday. The Wildcats never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Reagan Quinn was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Mahri Lingle was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Naomi Meyer, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Forest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 7-3 when they post 11 or more hits.

Forest's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for DeLand, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-8.

Looking ahead, Forest will face off against Lake Minneola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for DeLand, they will square off against Seminole at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
