Maine-Endwell and Vestal are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Spartans will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Golden Bears at 4:30 p.m. Maine-Endwell will be strutting in after a win while Vestal will be coming in after a defeat.

While Maine-Endwell's victory against Union-Endicott wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans had just enough and edged out the Tigers 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Emily Bealla was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tessa L'Amoreaux, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Vestal suffered their closest loss since April 4th on Sunday. They fell just short of Corning-Painted Post by a score of 7-5. Golden Bears fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Hawks since on Sunday.

Maine-Endwell's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Vestal, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Maine-Endwell was able to grind out a solid win over Vestal when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 6-3. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Golden Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
