Basketball Game Preview: Helix Highlanders vs. Torrey Pines Falcons + How To Watch

Two dominant guards in Trey Cavazos and Tevaris Green are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Helix Highlanders will be playing at home against the Torrey Pines Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Helix is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

While Helix didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Maranatha Christian by a score of 54-45 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Torrey Pines fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Victory Christian Academy on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 77-65 to the Knights. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Helix will have to contain Tyler Humphrey as he made an impact in Torrey Pines' last game. He dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Humphrey is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylan Virgil, who posted 14 points.

Torrey Pines' defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Helix, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Things could have been worse for Helix, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 72-56 loss to Torrey Pines in their previous matchup back in December of 2024.
