Softball Game Preview: River Ridge Hawks vs. Peninsula Seahawks

River Ridge is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Peninsula is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Hawks will welcome the Seahawks at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Monday, River Ridge made easy work of Capital and carried off a 9-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won six in a row.

Jaylah Sok Vandergriff made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Raylie Birklid was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Peninsula got the win against Lakes on Monday by a conclusive 19-4.

Peninsula's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for River Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
