Basketball Recap: Victory Prep Has No Trouble Against Texas Institute

Victory Prep had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on Texas Institute with a sharp 63-37 victory.

Despite the defeat, Texas Institute saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jaylen Halp almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. Halp also set a new season-high mark in field goal percentage with 60%.

Texas Institute's loss dropped their record down to 22-7.

Victory Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Texas Institute, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Dallas Christian Academy at 6:33 p.m. on Tuesday.
