Basketball Recap: Kenyon Mccloskey Key Part of a Team Effort in Warriors Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pine Ridge, St. Francis Indian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 70-68 victory from a begrudging Warriors squad.

St. Francis Indian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kenyon McCloskey out in front who went 8 for 19 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of John Gunhammer, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds.

St. Francis Indian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Wall lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Teelan Kjerstad, who posted 24 points and five rebounds. That was a full 35.3% of Wall's points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmet Dinger, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards.

The victory got St. Francis Indian back to even at 2-2. As for Wall, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 2-2.

St. Francis Indian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-60 win against Little Wound on the 21st. As for Wall, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-55 loss against Mahpiya Luta on the 21st.
