Baseball Game Preview: Wauwatosa West Trojans vs. Germantown Warhawks

Wauwatosa West hasn't had much luck against Germantown recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warhawks at 4:30 p.m.

Wauwatosa West is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They came up short against Shorewood, falling 7-1.

Wauwatosa West saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Weber, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Germantown, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They never let Wisconsin Lutheran get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Saturday.

Evan Lauer tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over 6.2 innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

Germantown pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wauwatosa West, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
