High school basketball: 2021 Hoophall West schedule headlined by AZ Compass Prep, Montverde Academy and Sierra Canyon

Hoophall West is annually one of the premier events of the early season in high school basketball season and the 2021 edition was unveiled Thursday. The ninth annual showcase takes place Dec. 8-11 at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Ariz., before moving over to the Footprint Center – home of the Phoenix Suns – for the final four games Saturday.

Hoophall West features teams from 11 states and includes national powerhouse programs AZ Compass Prep, Bishop Gorman, DeMatha, Duncanville, Montverde Academy, Oak Hill Academy, Prolific Prep, Sierra Canyon and Wasatch Academy among others.

The lineup is expected to feature 13 five-star prospects from the Class of 2022, including Shaedon Sharpe (No. 1), Amari Bailey (No. 3), Dariq Whitehead (No. 5), Chris Livingston (No. 6) and Yohan Traore (No. 10).
