Basketball Recap: Sargent Takes a Loss

If Sargent was feeling good fresh off their 45-22 takedown of Moffat last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sargent Farmers took a 37-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinidad Miners on Friday. The Farmers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Miners earlier this season, when they won 36-31.

Despite the loss, Sargent still got an impressive performance from Lucas Garcia, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Garcia has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kade Temple, who earned eight points.

Trinidad found their leader in sophomore Isaiah Moreno, who put up 12 points.

Sargent's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Trinidad, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-13.

As of now, neither Sargent nor Trinidad have any future games scheduled.
