Baseball Recap: Rocky Mount Comes Up Short

Rocky Mount was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Southern Nash Firebirds, falling 13-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Gryphons of the 11-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Rocky Mount saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Buck, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Rocky Mount's record now sits at 4-9. As for Southern Nash, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.

While Rocky Mount had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
