Basketball Game Preview: Delmarva Christian Royals vs. Worcester Prep Mallards

Delmarva Christian is a perfect 10-0 against Worcester Prep since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Delmarva Christian Royals will host the Worcester Prep Mallards at 5:30 p.m. Delmarva Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Worcester Prep likes a good challenge.

Delmarva Christian is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Salisbury Christian: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Delmarva Christian blew Salisbury Christian out of the water with a 69-19 final score. The Royals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 22 points or more this season.

Delmarva Christian found their leader in freshman Darius Liles, who went 5-for-11 en route to 15 points in addition to seven steals and six assists. That's the most steals Liles has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of D J Liles, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 15 points and six boards.

Delmarva Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Worcester Prep rose to the challenge on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Dragons 53-50. The Mallards haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Delmarva Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points over those games. As for Worcester Prep, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Everything went Delmarva Christian's way against Worcester Prep in their previous matchup on Monday, as Delmarva Christian made off with a 56-34 win. Will Delmarva Christian repeat their success, or does Worcester Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
