Baseball Recap: Troy-Buchanan Takes a Loss

Troy-Buchanan fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Fort Zumwalt West on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars. The Trojans' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

James Kline was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Troy-Buchanan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lance Stuckey, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that Stuckey has snagged this season.

Troy-Buchanan's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Fort Zumwalt West, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-2.

While Troy-Buchanan had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
