Football Recap: Idalia Starts off Right with Win over Prairie

Idalia had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Prairie Mustangs 65-14. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Idalia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kolby Morris, who rushed for 72 yards and one TD on only five carries. Those 72 rushing yards gave Morris a new career-high. Bode Monahan was in the mix too, providing Idalia with one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Idalia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 419 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 160 rushing yards in 14 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Idalia's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Hunter Drullinger and Edward Keller, who racked up five sacks between them. Idalia received some extra help from Monahan, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Looking ahead, Idalia will square off against Hanover at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. As for Prairie, they will face off against Arickaree at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th.
