Baseball Recap: Vashon Island Takes a Loss

Vashon Island had lost ten straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-11 to make it 11. They fell just short of the Cascade Christian Cougars by a score of 2-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-2 back in March.

As for Cascade Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since March 22, 2024.

For Cascade Christian's part, their win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brycen Larsen, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those two hits gave Larsen a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Vashon Island will be playing in front of their home fans against Charles Wright at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tarriers will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cascade Christian, they will take on Bellevue Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
