Volleyball Recap: Acadiana Home School Athletics Starts Season with Win Against Southwest Louisiana Homeschool

Acadiana Home School Athletics had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool 2-1. For the Commandos, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Acadiana Home School Athletics who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 20-25, 15-5.

Acadiana Home School Athletics found their leader in sophomore Emily Mader, who had nine aces and five kills. Mader is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia West, who had five digs and two aces.

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Acadiana Home School Athletics has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Lake Area HomeSchool Sports on the 8th. Hopefully Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool paid attention to Acadiana Home School Athletics' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on Acadiana Home School Athletics at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
