Basketball Recap: Kolten Holbert's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Gilmer County over Webster County

Gilmer County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the Webster County Highlanders. The Titans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Highlanders earlier this season, when they won 54-47.

Gilmer County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kolten Holbert, who shot 86% from the field on his way to 21 points along with six boards and three steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Mick, who posted 16 points.
