Basketball Recap: Langdon Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Langdon Cardinals ended up a good deal behind the Larimore Polar Bears and lost 68-51. The Cardinals were down 58-35 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Larimore's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Baron Burns, who went 8 for 14 en route to 19 points in addition to eight assists and five steals. The dominant performance gave Burns a new career-high in assists. Jace Collison was another key player, going 7 of 12 on his way to 20 points.

Langdon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Larimore, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Langdon will head out on the road to face off against Park River at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Larimore has already played their next matchup, a 70-60 loss against Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg on the 14th.
