Baseball Recap: Silver Creek Has No Trouble Against Independence

The matchup between Silver Creek and Independence on Thursday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. Silver Creek blew past Independence 29-1. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Wyatt Sharp and Nathan Nunez were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Sharp tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Nunez pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Sharp went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Nunez scored a run while going 2-for-2. That triple was Sharp's first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Giovanni Mejia, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Robert 'Bobby' Resendez was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
