Softball Recap: Evans Comes Up Short

The matchup between Evans and Lake Buena Vista on Thursday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Evans Trojans lost 20-5 to the Lake Buena Vista Vipers. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Vipers: they've now lost three in a row.

Evans saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kalee Chainey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Another was Jerleasia Mosely, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Even though they lost, Evans always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.

Evans' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Lake Buena Vista, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Evans will square off against Edgewater at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Evans is facing Edgewater at the right time seeing as Edgewater is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lake Buena Vista, they will be playing at home against Legacy Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
