Baseball Recap: Palestine-Wheatley Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Palestine-Wheatley's offense. They fell just short of the McCrory Jaguars by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

ANDREW KNOWLTON spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 17 Ks. He has become a key player for Palestine-Wheatley: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise.

This is the second loss in a row for Palestine-Wheatley and nudges their season record down to 5-3. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for McCrory, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Looking ahead, Palestine-Wheatley will host Hope at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for McCrory, they will venture away from home to face off against Harmony Grove at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight.
