Baseball Recap: Pinellas Park Comes Up Short

Pinellas Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-3 to the IMG Academy White Ascenders, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Pinellas Park got a good showing from Jack Inman, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Inman gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Dean Ross was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Carter DuBois was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Pinellas Park's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for IMG Academy White, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-10.

Looking ahead, Pinellas Park is taking a road trip to challenge Hollins at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pinellas Park is facing Hollins at the right time seeing as Hollins is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for IMG Academy White, they will take on Williamsburg in a tournament on Monday.
