Soccer Recap: Republic Comes Up Short

Republic lost against Nixa back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Tigers came up short against the Eagles, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Republic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri soccer rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Nixa are ranked ninth).

This is the second loss in a row for Republic and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Nixa, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Coming up, Republic is taking a road trip to square off against Waynesville at 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday. Waynesville will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Republic surely won't give up without a fight. As for Nixa, they will face off against Willard at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
