Basketball Recap: Brethren Takes a Loss

Brethren was the 64-51 winner over Traverse City Christian when they last played one another back in March of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Brethren Bobcats fell 59-50 to the Traverse City Christian Sabres on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 548th, while the Sabres are ranked 128th).

Brethren's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Traverse City Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season.

Brethren will face off against Northern Michigan Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Brethren is facing Northern Michigan Christian at the right time seeing as Northern Michigan Christian is stuck on a 15-game losing streak. Traverse City Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
