Softball Game Preview: La Pine Hawks vs. Oakridge Warriors

The La Pine Hawks will challenge the Oakridge Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Tuesday, La Pine came up short against Sisters and fell 8-4.

Lindsey Moulder was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Jade Seymour made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sierra Parks, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Oakridge came up short against Umpqua Valley Christian on Friday, falling 21-4. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Oakridge's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for La Pine, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

La Pine came out on top in a nail-biter against Oakridge when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 8-6. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
