Softball Recap: Riverdale Now 10-1 over Last 11 Games

After only one run in their last game, Riverdale made sure to put some runs up on the board against Moline on Saturday. The Rams never let the Maroons get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 17 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Brie DeBlaey, who gave up just four hits to keep Moline off the board. DeBlaey has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Katie Cox was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Breckin DeLaRosa, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Riverdale has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Moline, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-18 record this season.

Riverdale didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-3 win against Mercer County on the 22nd. As for Moline, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-4 victory against Belleville East on the 24th.
