Basketball Game Preview: Aldine Mustangs vs. Benjamin Davis Falcons

The Aldine Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Benjamin Davis Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Aldine has now lost 21 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 1.

Aldine is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Westfield on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Aldine had to suffer through a 69-17 loss at the hands of Westfield. While losing is never fun, Aldine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1493rd, while Westfield is ranked 260th).

Leslie Monteon-Lopez was Aldine's leading scorer, having posted five points.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Davis lost to Nimitz on the road by a 61-46 margin on Saturday. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Benjamin Davis' defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Aldine, their loss dropped their record down to 1-21.

Aldine was dealt a bruising 56-15 defeat at the hands of Benjamin Davis when the teams last played on January 3rd. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Aldine was down 34-8.
