Softball Game Preview: Antelope Valley Antelopes vs. Lancaster Eagles

Antelope Valley hasn't had much luck against Lancaster recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Antelope Valley Antelopes will look to defend their home field against the Lancaster Eagles at 3:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Antelope Valley's offense. They lost 21-0 to Quartz Hill on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Antelopes' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Lancaster's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Tuesday. They came up short against Highland, falling 8-1. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.

Lancaster saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elsy Herrera, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Another was Nayomi Ordonez, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lancaster fell to 3-1. As for Antelope Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
