Bugg Edwards leads Duncanville to victory over DeSoto

Recap: Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes vs. DeSoto Eagles

The Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes came tearing into Friday's match with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with an 88-80 victory over DeSoto. Given Duncanville's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while DeSoto is ranked 159th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Bugg Edwards, who went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 3 assists. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Davis-ray, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds.

Duncanville is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. As for DeSoto, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-14.

Duncanville will head out on the road to challenge Mansfield Legacy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Duncanville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,958 points over their last 26 matches. DeSoto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
