Basketball Game Preview: Arcadia Titans vs. Saguaro Sabercats

The Arcadia Titans will head out to face off against the Saguaro Sabercats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arcadia has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with five straight defeats, while Saguaro will come in with three straight wins.

Last Tuesday, Arcadia came up short against Cactus Shadows and fell 68-55.

Meanwhile, Saguaro hadn't done well against Mesquite recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Saguaro came out on top against Mesquite by a score of 75-64.

Arcadia better focus on containing Aidan Whitaker and Justice Hinds as the pair were huge in Saguaro's win. Whitaker went 10 for 15 on his way to 24 points, while Hinds went 8 of 14 en route to 17 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Whitaker continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bentley Elrod, who went 5 for 8 en route to 14 points and five boards.

Saguaro was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mesquite only racked up ten assists.

Saguaro's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 84.0 points per game. As for Arcadia, they now have a losing record at 10-11.

Arcadia suffered a grim 76-56 defeat to Saguaro in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Arcadia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
