The Speedway Sparkplugs will square off against the Ben Davis Giants at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Speedway is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Speedway barely beat Indianapolis Scecina Memorial the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Sparkplugs never let the Crusaders get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Sparkplugs considering their one-run performance the game before.
Hayli Clampitt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Clampitt was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Speedway let Kyla Booker and Paige Hooper run wild. Booker got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Hooper went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Hooper a new career-high. Mallory Short was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Speedway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Ben Davis was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They came up short against Cathedral, falling 16-2. The Giants haven't had much luck with the Fighting Irish recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
The win snapped Speedway's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-7 record. As for Ben Davis, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.
