Basketball Game Preview: Restoration Academy vs. Banks Academy Jets

Restoration Academy and Banks Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. Restoration Academy will challenge the Banks Academy Jets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Last Thursday, Restoration Academy came up short against Bessemer Academy and fell 57-48. While losing is never fun, Restoration Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Bessemer Academy is ranked 45th).

Despite the defeat, Restoration Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ian Fuller posted 19 points. Those 19 points gave Fuller a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of DJ Ephriam, who put up eight points.

Meanwhile, Banks Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Cornerstone Christian on Friday, taking the game 63-53.

Banks Academy has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.9 points per game. As for Restoration Academy, they dropped their record down to 9-10 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Restoration Academy came up short against Banks Academy in their previous meeting on January 10th, falling 72-63. Can Restoration Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
