Volleyball Recap: Grossmont Comes Up Short

Grossmont lost against Mater Dei Catholic back in October of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Foothillers fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 2-1.

Alexis Holman paced Grossmont's offense, picking up 13 kills. Holman got some help from Jacqueline Villalobos and her 11 assists. Villalobos was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Grossmont's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mater Dei Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

Coincidentally, Grossmont and Mater Dei Catholic will both be playing Mission Hills the next time they take the court. The Foothillers will head out to face the Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Crusaders will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
