Basketball Recap: Marion County Warriors vs. Sequatchie County Indians
Marion County was the 48-47 winner over Sequatchie County when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Marion County Warriors took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sequatchie County Indians on Monday. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Indians 14-8 in the first quarter.
It was another big night for Beckham McKendrick, who went 10 for 14 en route to 26 points in addition to eight boards and three steals for Sequatchie County. Ryker Terry was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.
Marion County has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Sequatchie County, they moved to 9-10 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.
Marion County has already played their next contest (against Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sequatchie County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 77-38 loss against Tyner Academy on the 28th.
