Baseball Game Preview: Oasis Christian Lions vs. Canterbury Crusaders

The Oasis Christian Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Canterbury Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Oasis Christian is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Oasis Christian managed to slip by Grace Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Oasis Christian came up short against Grace Christian on Friday, falling 8-1. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly seven runs.

Chauncey Goldwire was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. Logan Koblentz also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Canterbury owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Admiral Farragut. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the BlueJackets recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Canterbury's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brooks Merrill, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Ian Robinson was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Canterbury's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Oasis Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Oasis Christian suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Canterbury in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Can Oasis Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
