Baseball Recap: Palm Springs' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Palm Springs had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Yucca Valley Trojans on Saturday, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted since March 1st.

Jordan Baggett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up eight Ks. Palm Springs is 3-1 when Baggett allowsone or fewer earned runs, but 2-7 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Axel Mijangos, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Palm Springs' victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Yucca Valley, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.
