Volleyball Recap: Holy Cross Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against North Bullitt on Monday, Holy Cross came back down to earth. The Cougars fell just short of the Providence Pioneers by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Cougars have struggled against the Pioneers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Holy Cross actually scored more points across those five sets (109-108), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-20, 18-16.

Providence's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alexis Stratford, who had seven digs and two aces.

Holy Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Providence, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Holy Cross has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Bethlehem on the 21st. As for Providence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Mercy on the 20th.
