Baseball Recap: Monticello Comes Up Short

Monticello lost against Duchesne on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Buckaroo took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Buckaroo have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Arturo Guiterrez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. Jackson Keyes was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-5.

Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Duchesne, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monticello will welcome North Sevier at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Duchesne, they will be playing at home against North Summit at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles are facing the Braves at the right time seeing as the Braves are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
