Continental came out on top against Columbus Grove on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Pirates put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 10-1 win. Considering the Pirates have won six games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gracie Homier was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Kimberly Grant and Kenzie Searfoss did most of the damage at the plate: Grant went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Searfoss went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three hits gave Grant a new career-high. Cheyenne Goings was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Continental was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Continental's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Columbus Grove, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Looking ahead, Continental will venture away from home to square off against North Baltimore at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Columbus Grove, they will welcome Leipsic at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
