Basketball Game Preview: Lincolnwood Lancers vs. Carlinville Cavaliers

Lincolnwood hasn't had much luck against Carlinville recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lincolnwood Lancers will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Carlinville Cavaliers at 12:00 p.m.

Last Saturday, Lincolnwood lost to Southwestern on the road by a 35-19 margin. The match marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Carlinville entered their tilt with South Fork on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They breezed by the Ponies to the tune of 65-34. The Cavaliers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 29 points or more this season.

Carlinville pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Lincolnwood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Lincolnwood was dealt a bruising 52-17 defeat at the hands of Carlinville in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lincolnwood was down 27-6.
