Basketball Game Preview: Onsted Wildcats vs. Carlson Marauders

The Onsted Wildcats will take on the Carlson Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Onsted is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.2 points per game this season.

Onsted took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Michigan Center out 41-38. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Cardinals are ranked 146th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

JT Hill continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 9 for 16 en route to 22 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Chesser, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, Carlson came up short against Allen Park on Tuesday and fell 59-49. The loss continues a trend for the Marauders in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now lost nine in a row.

Onsted pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Carlson, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.
