Softball Recap: Oak Park-River Forest Takes a Loss

Oak Park-River Forest was the 14-6 winner over York when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Huskies fell just short of the Dukes by a score of 5-4 on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Elyssa Hasapis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Maura Carmody, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Oak Park-River Forest's record now sits at 20-8. As for York, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-10.

Oak Park-River Forest and York should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Huskies will take on Lyons at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (31 vs. 218). Meanwhile, York (ranked 120th) will meet Proviso West (ranked 447th) at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
