Volleyball Recap: Denver West Takes a Loss

Denver West came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Thomas Jefferson Spartans, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Cowboys in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost nine in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-16, 25-7.

Thomas Jefferson can attribute much of their success to Madison Dillon, who had 11 assists and three aces. Dillon has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

Denver West's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Thomas Jefferson, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Denver West is set to square off against their familiar foe Regis Groff at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Thomas Jefferson will challenge rival Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
