Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask A.J. Ellender). They secured a 19-14 W over the Morgan City Tigers on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Patriots as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.
A big part of A.J. Ellender's victory came down to the chemistry between Kade Adkins and his top target Ladainian Perna. Adkins threw for 234 yards and three touchdowns while Perna picked up 146 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Adkins a new career-high in rushing yards (71).
A.J. Ellender's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-8. As for Morgan City, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.
As of now, neither A.J. Ellender nor Morgan City have any future games scheduled.
