It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Montgomery Academy had no problem doing just that on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Flomaton Hurricanes a 42-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won eight games by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Montgomery Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reid McBride, who threw for 155 yards and four touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes. Ali Nelson was another key player, rushing for 141 yards and one score on only 15 carries.

The win was the fifth in a row for Montgomery Academy, bringing their record up to 10-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.8 points on average over those games. As for Flomaton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Montgomery Academy will take on Lee-Scott Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Flomaton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
