Softball Recap: Ashley Screaming Eagle vs. North Brunswick Scorpions

Ashley had lost 13 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 4-14 to make it 14. They came up short against the North Brunswick Scorpions, falling 11-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Scorpions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-8 back in March.

Ashley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elin Bentley, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one double.

As for North Brunswick, their record now sits at 9-11. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

On North Brunswick's side, Gabby Elkins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Elkins was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Adrianna Gomez was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Takyra Boyd, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.
