Basketball Recap: Adelson Takes a Loss

Adelson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 54-3 defeat at the hands of the Laughlin Cougars. Adelson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-0.

Laughlin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was AmorA ThomAs, who posted 15 points along with eight steals and five boards. Thomas is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Valeria Quintero, who scored 12 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds.

Adelson's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Laughlin, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Adelson will square off against Laughlin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Laughlin has already played their next game (against Founders Classical Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
