Lawrence Academy had won eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 2-1 to make it nine. They came out on top against the Halifax Academy Vikings by a score of 46-36. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 55-26 two weeks ago.

Carter Hoggard had a dynamite game, almost dropping a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Stokes Powell, who scored six points.

Lawrence Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Halifax Academy only pulled down four.

As for Halifax Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4. On the bright side, the 36- point performance marked their highest-scoring contest to date.

Despite the defeat, Halifax Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Riddick Bain earned 21 points and four steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for Bain.

Lawrence Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 60-43 win against Ridgecroft on the 5th. As for Halifax Academy, they will face off against Wilson Christian Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Monday.
