Baseball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

Riverside fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Cabell Midland on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Warriors' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Aaron George was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Caden Lipscomb was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Cabell Midland, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Riverside will take on Frankfort at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
